If you find swearing too harsh, offensive or upsetting, please DON'T read this post:

I called the woman who owns the lot next door, LAST YEAR, and she solidly stated that she would not sell the lot next door, nope, no way.

Guess what.
She sold it.
She sold it to a BUILDER.

Money changes a lot of people's minds...I hate progress.

Too bad she didn't offer it to you guys first. I feel for you.

Well that just sucks. I'm sorry that this is happening. A builder would have to be crazy to start a spec house in this economy...maybe it's just an investment and you won't see anything over there for many years.

contact the builder, make an offer to buy. at least try. if she doesnt give up the name go to the recorder of deeds office, ask your real estate agent, see if it was listed in the paper. try and buy it from the developer. contact your local representative -- whoever does local zoning, permit etc, to find out who bought it, what the plans are, and can you oppose it!
