Mackie is confused. We took his big field of good sniffing and fenced it in. He is far in the background of the photo waiting for us to help him around the fence. There is no gate where he is sitting. We are helping him to learn where the gates are. He can go over and through the fence, it is flexible, but he is a very civilized dog. Java is usually civilized too, they get along well.
